»The Scandinavian Cook Book« was issued in the UK by Quadrille Publishers in September 2008. Trina says about the book: »For several years, since I started working with photographer Lars Ranek, we’ve talked about making a book about Scandinavian Food.
When travelling and visiting book stores all over the world you find all sorts of cookbooks about world food, European style food, etc., but very few about contemporary, Scandinavian food and cooking. And the few you find are not worth buying.
After years of talking I finally made a dummy for a Scandinavian cookbook with Lars. Through my sister Silla Bjerrum, who has written a book on sushi, I got a meeting at Quadrille, a London based publishing house. They looked at it, and loved it. We were also very lucky, because at the same time Quadrille were planning their annual trip to the Frankfurt book-fair, and all the sales people were in the house. The sales people liked it too, and were convinced they could sell it.
So Quadrille brought the dummy to the book-fair in Frankfurt, where several other publishing houses in Europe showed interest. A week later we had a deal to publish a Scandinavian book about everyday food, and we had 10 months to produce it.
The book is scheduled to come out in the autumn of 2008 in UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and in 2009 in the USA.«
